What a laser engraving looks like on metal
In short: permanent, in the material — no print, no sticker.
Stays as long as the piece
The engraving sits in the metal itself and can neither be washed off nor worn away. That is exactly why metal is the material for things meant to last.
Contrast through the coating
On coated surfaces — water bottles, for example — the laser removes the layer of colour and bright metal appears underneath. That gives the strongest contrast.
No paint, no chemicals
Nothing is applied. Cutlery, bottles and cups remain perfectly usable and washable.
Long blades welcome
Length and width do not matter — a sword or a saw blade fits without trouble. Only height or diameter is limited, to 15 cm; designs larger than 20 × 20 cm are combined from several passes.
Stainless steel, brass and aluminium are the metals we see most at the counter — from chef's knives to compasses to laptop lids. How the engraving looks depends on the alloy and the surface: sometimes a dark marking on bright metal, sometimes bright lines on a dark coating. With items you bring in, we tell you honestly beforehand what to expect.
Coated metals are the most rewarding: on water bottles and powder-coated surfaces the result is a crisp, bright contrast that cannot flake off. Polished or chrome-plated surfaces we look at together first — best send a photo on WhatsApp.
Logos and photo engravings work very well on metal — from a company logo on a bottle to a portrait on a lighter. Both cost extra compared to a pure text engraving; we confirm the price before we start.
